Homegrown Pathways’ model is driven by local industry input but centered on the individual young adult. The origin of Homegrown Pathways’ logo is the constellation of Ursa Minor, “little bear” in Latin, which contains the North Star. Ursa is the mascot and symbol of the ultimate goal of our model.

We recognize that ultimately for a person to build a career within an individual sector and even company, it must not only align from a skills and financial perspective, but it must align with their personal aspirations and needs. A quality career is one that advances your individual, self-defined purpose.

To this end, we ground career exploration in the Polaris Framework, which builds off the Hedgehog Concept by Jim Collins but incorporates personal inputs as well. The Hedgehog Concept has been a guiding tool for building great companies for decades.
