Who this is for

Homegrown Pathways is being developed for implementation in rural as well as underinvested urban communities. There is a significant opportunity gap in both quality career experiences and social capital access that impedes upward mobility in rural and underinvested urban communities. Our vision is a Colorado, and a country, where innovation and economic mobility is driven by talent and interest, regardless of parental wealth, race, gender, or zip code.

The Spark Day “Innovation Experiences” and the Spark Lab Youth Pre-Accelerator are actively being developed for young adults between 15-24 years old, however with time the intent is to develop variations of the experiences and toolkits that focus on the middle school level.

Nimble, Partnership-Driven Model

In addition to schools, partnerships with local direct service providers provide entry point for serving diverse students, including:

  • Foster and foster alumni serving organizations

  • System-engaged youth programs

  • After school providers with focus on equitable access

  • Programs that enable skilled-through-alternative-routes pathways

  • Economic assistance programs, for example, county programs in support of low-income, single mothers
